Unless the highlights have been really cruel to Sunderland, they should be the ideal next opponents

"Two terrible decisions, West Ham should have had a penalty"

A strange feeling, agreeing totally with Alan Shearer.

Re: MotD
Yeah that was after Jonathon Green told us they were both definite yellow cards!
Getting fed up with the commentators on MOTD now regularly giving their opinions as fact, that's what the ex footballers do after the matches and being ex footballers they are better qualified. Bring back Barry Davis again!!

Re: MotD
What an absolute twat that commentator was, he said both cards were worthy yellows, what a twat, where do they get these stupid thoughtless people from?

At least Shearer and Lineker told the absolute truth, good on them.

Re: MotD
It was Jonathan Pearce and he's a total bellend. Made his name by shouting and pissing himself on Capital Gold.

Pearce is a Palace fan - says it all

Re: MotD
I know it was Pearce but I cannot bring myself to mention his name, the funny thing is he is meant to be an experienced man who knows a little about the game, regardless of him being a palace fan he should simply do his job.

Re: MotD
I always thought Pearce was Palace, but was corrected on here that he is Bristol City.

Re: MotD
I didn't know Pearce was palace, I've always thought he was an ok commentator but he's lost it there.

Re: MotD
Jonathan Pearce is the worst commentator on tv.

He thinks he knows something because he missed out I a football career because of injury.

Far cunt.

Pearce isn't Palace, he's from Bristol, City fan I believe

I suspect Crystal Palace were thinking the same thing, given the run we've been on.

Pearce is a long-time Bristol City fan.[4] He lives in Hassocks, West Sussex, where he is chair of the junior section of Hassocks F.C.[7]

Re: MotD
Well I take that back then, I was sure that I had heard him say Palace years ago

Just had a look, BC it is, Palace are his 'second' team - his wife and kids support them

The know nothing two team twerp

Re: MotD
Definitely Bristol City. Had a shocker yesterday, but generally supportive of the non-elite teams in commentary. Didnt he do the commentary of the Man U home game end of last season and was very pro-West Ham?

Re: MotD
who cares, bloke made a mistake, is usually quite complimentary to the club, move on. the mistake by the ref is the one to be debated and scrutinised.

I've always thought Jonathan Pearce had a bit of a soft spot for West Ham going back to his Capital Gold days.

gph 2:53 Sun Oct 16
Re: MotD
He's less hysterical now days.

Made me laugh when MotD experimented with a woman commentator and WHO was full of people slagging her off for being hysterical, when she wasn't even the most hysterical person on the programme.

I agree, he always had a soft spot for West Ham. However that might have been spoilt a little because I remember seeing a documentary about Bobby Moore and Pearce was really angry about how the club ignored Bobby in his later years. He and Bobby were good mates and always commentated together on Capital Gold, he has a few stories about driving to match somewhere with people constantly honking and shouting when they saw Bobby in the car.

I have divided loyalties but I certainly can't bring myself to slag off Pearce, he was always kind to us and listening to him and Bobby on the radio in the very late 80's/early 90's are some of my best West Ham memories actually.

I respect all of that he may be a genuine diamond geezer but he is not good at his job I think he annoyed me last season too he seems in my honest humble opinion to be almost rooting for whoever plays West Ham these days, I feel that strongly.
